About This Manual

This section discusses the objectives, audience, organization, and conventions of the Protocol Translation Configuration Guide and Command Reference.

Document Objectives

This manual describes the tasks and the commands necessary to configure and maintain protocol translation in one or more of the following environments: Local Area Transport (LAT), TN3270, Serial Line Internet Protocol (SLIP) or Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP), XRemote, or TCP (Telnet). For information about routing X.25 and TCP/IP, refer to the Router Products Configuration Guide and the Router Products Command Reference publication.

All Cisco technical documentation and additional literature are available on UniverCD, Cisco's online library of product information. UniverCD is updated and shipped monthly, so it might be more up to date than printed documentation. UniverCD is available both as a single CD and as an annual subscription.
