ASCII Character Set

ASCII Character Set

Some commands described in this publication, such as the escape-character line configuration command in the "Terminal Lines and Modem Commands" chapter, require that you enter the decimal representation of an ASCII character.

Table D-1 provides code translations from the decimal numbers to their hexidecimal and ASCII equivalents. It also provides the keyword entry for each ASCII character. For example, the ASCII carriage return (CR) is decimal 13. Entering Ctrl-M at your terminal generates decimal 13, which is interpreted as a CR.
